296,40 €Contemporary orthodontics has undergone a profound transformation since the introduction of skeletal anchorage, a technique that expanded the biomechanical possibilities for treating the most complex malocclusions. In this context, Dr. Patricia Vergara established herself as one of the pioneers and most influential voices internationally, adopting extra-alveolar screws early on and developing clinical strategies that are now part of the modern standard of care in the specialty. This book brings together the results of decades of experience, research, and clinical dedication. Through a careful selection of cases, the author and her team of collaborators present innovative solutions that integrate advanced biomechanics, bone anchorage, and a deep understanding of the function of the masticatory system. Her comprehensive approach—in which the temporomandibular joint, musculature, clinical diagnosis, and treatment mechanics converge—offers the reader a clear, practical, and well-founded view of current orthodontic management. The book includes chapters dedicated to the use of skeletal anchorage in different anatomical regions, the correction of the gummy smile, MARPE, mesialization and verticalization of molars, treatment with aligners, aesthetic appliances, transverse development, and early interventions. It also explores multidisciplinary aspects such as orthognathic surgery and complementary therapies, including the use of lasers. With contributions from international experts, this text becomes an indispensable reference for orthodontists, professors, and students. More than a technical compendium, it is a guide that conveys Dr. Vergara’s passion for teaching, innovating, and always seeking the best outcome for her patients. A work that marks a milestone in her brilliant professional career.
